Saul Wordsworth

Who is Saul Wordsworth?

Saul was born in London in December of 1972. At the age of three he moved from Holborn to Harpenden in Hertfordshire. Concerned for his wellbeing, his parents followed him there two weeks later. Saul's early years were noteworthy for his ability to run fast, an obsessive interest in cricket and the early signs of the chronic snoring that was to dog his later years. Aged 13 he took the unprecedented decision to retire as a perfectionist. Aged 17 he hit the biggest six ever seen at his school but made a pig’s ear of his A-levels. At university he acquired a reputation for being half-Jewish, and a penchant for donner meat with chips, extra chilli sauce please. After university he moved to Brighton to busk for a living, much to the almighty chagrin of his father. This phase lasted only 20 minutes, the length of time it took him to break a string. Since then Saul has spent an impressive amount of his adult life in gainful employment, and an equally impressive amount in the bath. His career in sales spanned nearly a decade but in the end he just didn’t have the handshake. He is now a freelance journalist which means more time for baths again. His writing oscillates between humour and straight journalism – from time to time he finds himself to be an expert on airports of the world, or Formula 3. Ever the jetsetter, Saul divides his time between the bedroom, the bathroom, the sitting room and the little caff round the corner that serves the perfect banana cake. He lives in North London so he does.
